PruittHealth Purch Supply Clerk HCC in Augusta, Georgia

JOB PURPOSE:

Assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for performing the day –to-day responsibilities for client supply needs as indicated.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Wraps packets of disposable non-powdered gloves for individual use and distribute disposable powdered gloves throughout the building.

  2. Per shift, labels and assembles necessary packages of disposable diapers, as approved by the Nursing Department.

  3. Stocks bath boxes with necessary items to include, but not limited to: individual razors, deodorant, toothpaste, dental pick, witch hazel, mouth rinse, shaving cream, after shave, Vaseline, corn starch and dandruff shampoo. Place snuff, cigarettes, dental cream and earplugs in clients’ individual containers.

  4. Prepares cleaning solutions, as necessary, for all 3 shifts.

  5. Prepares individual supply packets for clients going out on pass and for initial school stock.

  6. Packs school book bags according to policy and procedure to ensure appropriate clothing is forwarded to the school.

  7. Monitors and assure the proper tracking of items being signed out from the supply room. Maintain an accurate, up-to-date inventory of all supplies on a daily basis, reporting any discrepancies in inventory to the Program Services Director.

  8. Orders supplies on a monthly basis to adequately restock inventory. Keep an extra 4 to 5 day stock on-hand, at all times.

  9. Maintains supply room and adequately stocked bath boxes in a neat, clan, and orderly fashion.

  10. Maintains at least 2 to 3 isolation packages for restocking, if necessary.

  11. Disposal of used items per Infection Control Policies, (i.e. razors, toothbrushes)

  12. Labels personal items supplies by family with client’s name.

  13. Replenishes toothbrushes every 3 to 4 months and as needed.

  14. Checks supply items for safety, i.e., deodorant bottles for cracks.

  15. Attends in-service training, which is required to maintain employment. Complete in-service training and demonstrate competence on the material for which the training is provided.

  16. Operates within all organization policies, State and Federal laws, as well as, the ICF/MR Conditions of Participation.

  17. Communicates well with patients/residents/clients and family members providing warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude to families, visitors, patients/residents/clients and responds to expressed concerns while displaying a helpful, caring demeanor. Answers questions when appropriate in a professional manner.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

High school diploma or equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

On-the-job training provided

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)

Previous clerical experience in institutional health care setting preferred.
